Child Safeguarding

Archery Australia has zero tolerance for child abuse or neglect in any form.

All children have the right to feel safe and protected from all forms of abuse, harm, and neglect. children have the right to take part in archery in a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment.

Archery Australia is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in archery by providing safe and inclusive environments and ensuring that everyone involved in archery is proportionately educated and informed of their responsibilities to protect and look after children and young people.

The AA Safeguarding Children and Young People policy sets out the expectations for everyone involved in archery, including recruitment recommendations, response obligations and child/young person safe practices.

Working With Children Checks

The National Integrity Framework (NIF) and specifically the Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy mandates that all compels individuals, organisations, committees and Boards, to take steps to be familiar with the relevant legislative requirements and comply with strictly with the requirements.

Are you aware of your State or Territory Working with Children Check? It can be called something slightly different in each state, but every State and Territory in Australia has legislation in place relating to screening employees and volunteers who engage in child-related work to hold a WWCC and to have that number verified.

Organisations, clubs and individuals may be liable for penalties for not fulfilling these obligations. These penalties include fines and/or imprisonment.
